The Lutheran World Relief Community Quilt

Environment

EnvironmentStewardship of God’s creation is everyone’s responsibility. It is essential for the well-being of people in rural areas who depend on natural resources for their livelihoods. Farmers cannot support their families without healthy forests, reliable sources of clean water, and fertile soil to grow crops. Population growth, industrial development and unsustainable farming methods are putting an ever-increasing burden on the earth’s natural resources. The last 50 years have seen unprecedented levels of pollution, deforestation, and climate change worldwide.
